Event: Cardiff Twestival

I don't often post you events information or bang the drum for charitable causes but I hope you can forgive me when that event is raising money for a local food charity.

Cardiff Foodbank has been chosen as the charity of the year by Cardiff Twestival.  Cardiff Foodbank does outstanding work across the city redistributing food parcels to people in real need - people who would otherwise not be able to feed themselves or their families through sheer poverty.

Imagine coming home one night knowing that you don't have any food in the cupboard, knowing that you won't be able to feed your children.

That's what they do, they fufill that most basic human need - to sustain ourselves.

Since opening in May 2010, they've managed to feed 1200 people, including 500 children.  And they do it completely on donations of food - amazing stuff!

But of course, this being a Twestival event you get to have fun whilst raising money for this fantastic cause.

Buy your tickets for the event here and don't forget to take part in the Mega-Raffle where you could win an awesome package of prizes including flights with bmi baby, meals out at some of Cardiff's coolest restaurants and tickets to great gigs and comedy events  You can also find out more info by following Twestival on Twitter.

If you want to read more about Cardiff Foodbank then you can either read this excellent blog by Hannah Stokes or visit their website

Can't make it to the festival, you can still donate at the Just Giving page.  Go on, it's for a great cause.
